On November 13, 2025, a significant joint emergency response drill was conducted by the Emergency Management Department Sichuan Fire Research Institute and Suntex Composite Industrial Co.,Ltd. focusing on electric vehicle fire emergencies.

The Sichuan Dujiangyan Fire Brigade was on site, demonstrating readiness and precision in deploying the innovative Suntex Fire Control Blanket.

Key Drill Observations & Data:

Controlled Venting: Approximately 10 minutes after covering the burning vehicle, the blanket began to vent gases from within. Our specialized material has a tested permeability rate of 2.3-2.7 cm³/(cm²·s), a critical feature that strategically reduces the risk of post-coverage explosion by managing smoke and flammable gases.

Extended Durability Test: As per the test protocol, the blanket remained in place for 60 minutes. Upon removal, while the damaged vehicle experienced a flare-up, the battery’s thermal runaway had significantly slowed, demonstrating the blanket’s ability to mitigate the core reaction.

Proven Performance: The drill conclusively proved the Suntex blanket’s capabilities.

Drill Verdict: Proven Effectiveness

Fire Containment: Effectively blocks flame spread for at least 60 minutes.

Thermal Protection: Significantly reduces ambient temperature, safeguarding adjacent equipment and personnel.

Strategic Venting: Offers a crucial smoke ventilation function, venting flammable gases from battery thermal runaway after ~10 minutes, drastically reducing the risk of gas accumulation and explosion.

Durability & Reusability: Maintains structural integrity and a degree of flexibility even after 60 minutes of direct high-temperature exposure, allowing for multiple reuses.

This drill underscores the vital dual advantage of the Suntex Fire Control Blanket: superior fire control coupled with managed smoke extraction. It’s a robust solution enhancing safety for first responders and the public facing the challenges of EV fires.
